What is a Heavy Gauge Boat?
Heavy Gauge Boats are a classification of boats that is defined by the thickness of the aluminum used in the construction of the hull. Heavy Gauge Boats are exclusively welded aluminum construction. To be classified as “Heavy Gauge” typically the boats have hull bottoms of at least 0.125" thick and hull sides typically 0.100" thick.
